I’m not a bird photographer. But occasionally I make an exception. Not because I stumble across a rare specimen. I wouldn’t know. Usually because they enter the scene by coincidence and quite often seem to fit nicely in the Anthropocene environment I’m depicting. Since I have a soft spot for the opportunistic and successful species we tend to despise, you’ll probably identify a lot of cormorants and seagulls in my gallery. Feel free to perceive them as signifiers of a feeling or deeper meaning though it’s not necessarily my intent. My intent is usually more topographic and unsentimental. Pardon my honesty. It’s probably counterproductive.
