Quite often I find myself cruising through industrial areas and walking along barbwire fences when I’m scouting for photo opportunities. In all the ugliness there’s also something quite intriguing about areas transformed into barren landscapes of human interventions. Am I looking for beauty in the ugly? Maybe. But maybe it’s senseless to commit to a judgment of beauty. When I’m satisfied with the result of my endeavours it’s usually because I sense the ambiguity of industrial sublimity and subtle critique is contained.
