Although I have been everywhere in the landscape around my home, it is still a landscape that I will never finish discovering. I will never reach a point where I can claim I've seen it, since the landscape constantly changes with the rhythm of the day, the weather, and the change of seasons. And besides, it is not as static as you can be led to believe at a fleeting glance. It is constantly changing – just like my experience. Mostly subtle. Sometimes brutal. The landscape is neither spectacular nor extraordinary. Not particularly beautiful or ugly for that matter, which I consider a meaningless distinction by closer inspection anyway. I believe it can be an expression of distancing and detachment. I want to get closer.
